Stella Concert Guitar, circa 1934
For pure “Mojo”, this guitar wins the prize! It carries its own history in Greek! There’s a paper Label inside dated 1934 . Hand written in Modern Greek are several lines of poetry, written by an immigrant living in Los Angeles who apparently had a case of the blues. On the headstock it says - “ΓΝΩΘΙ Σ’ΑΥΤΟΝ ” - Know Thyself. Solid birch construction with no cracks. Fingerboard has a silver crystalline finish with inlaid gold sparkle position dots. The finish on the body and neck was customized in the dim reaches of the past, careful to leave the decalcomania rosette intact. This guitar has wonderful patina with more than its share of character.
